Responsibilities

Pearson Learning Solutions is seeking a Custom Solutions Architect for their exciting and fast-paced multi-state territory. This position will be responsible for maximizing the sales by taking leads and creating curriculum solutions for schools in the K-12 market. This person is responsible for maximizing market share growth in his/her territory as well as establishing large institutional agreements with the ability to be aggressive and active in competitive accounts, as well as knowledgeable regarding competition and industry trends. The position will cover the states of GA, AL, MS, AR, LA, and TN.

Responsibilities
- Selling and implementing new business models
- Negotiating contracts and terms of an agreement, making accurate rapid cost calculations, providing customers with quotations and variations in price and delivery specifications and closing sales
- Generating Profit and Loss Statements (P&L)
- Managing existing project, preparing projects for internal submission (i.e., entering PCS records, requesting ISBNs, ValuPaks, access cards; creating contracts, maintaining prospects logs)
- Accurately recording sales and order information and sending copies to the sales office
- Presenting solutions capabilities to senior management of prospective clients, advising on forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions
- Consulting with clients regarding technology and other support issues as it pertains to online learning environment
- Maintaining current and developing new customer relationships via in-person meetings, telephone calls and emails
- Gathering market and customer information while gaining a clear understanding of their businesses and requirements
- Visiting potential customers to prospect for new business, acting as a contact between a company and its existing and potential markets and then feeding future buying trends back to employer
- Representing the organization at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations as needed
- Conducting inventory checks of goods on display and in stock and liaising with suppliers to check on the progress of existing orders
- Acting independently, conducting regular personal reviews on own sales performance and aiming to meet or exceed targets with guidance from his/her manager
- All other responsibilities assigned by management

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of education and professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years publishing experience or equivalent years of successful publishing sales experience
- Experience in and a deep understanding of the K-12 market
- Must have experience negotiating and closing large transactions and/or contracts often in excess of $1M and achieving an annual double-digit sales growth goal

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES
- Consultative sales skills with the ability identify, articulate, and implement products, solutions, and services to customer requirements
- Excellent relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills
- Solid knowledge of online learning and familiarity with all learning management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and effective presentation skills
- Ability to work remotely and willingness to travel up to 40% of the time
- Ability to handle a high volume of work in a short period of time, handle multiple priorities simultaneously and operate in a demanding work environment is important
- This person must be able to sit or stand at a personal computer for a reasonable length of time typing and reading

Relocation is not available for this remote position. Ideal candidate will reside within territory states of: GA, AL, MS, AR, LA, and TN.
